A UV tattoo or a black light tattoo is a tattoo which can only be seen in ultraviolet light and is invisible in during day. It is made by inking Florissant inks into the skin and Colored inks are also available, where the ink is visible in normal light, like a standard tattoo but the ink will also glow vividly under UV light.

A UV tattoo is no way near in the mainstream tattoo umbrella but very popular amongst rave goers.  When choosing a UV tattoo be very mindful about the environment that it will be exposed in. for example if you encounter UV lights in a sleazy nightclub, a sentimental UV tattoo of your mothers face might seem out of place.
